Scanning Service:

 

Allys Photo Services will provide you with a professional and affordable scanning service.  I am available and able to scan your memories by way of individual prints, flat photo albums, albums with sleeves and photos up to A4 size.

 

I will scan your photos at a resolution of between 300, 600 dpi (dots per inch) in our standard service.    

 

Then I save them to either a  USB memory stick  - I can provide a memory stick at a cost or if you leave me a memory stick I can add the photos to your memory stick.

 

I also save your files as a JPEG as standard format but can save as TIFF files if you prefer you get to choose.

 

I use a static free cloth to gently wipe the photos down and have a dusting brush again which is very gentle on the photos to ensure they are cleaned prior to scanning. 

 

I offer you the choice a straight scan or an auto touchup it's your choice. 

 

What do you need to know about dpi - dots per inch:-

 

• 300dpi means you can print 6'x 4'standard photo size or for digital medium ie. emails, websites - places like facebook etc.

• If you require your images to be printed at a larger size you need to let me know so I can set the size of the print for you.

• When scanning slides or negatives they are scanned at a much higher resolution due to size of negatives therefore takes longer which is why they cost a little more.

 

 

Benefits of Scanning your precious Photos and Slides to USB stick or external hard drives

 

• Digitized photos and slides will not deteriorate the way an exposed photo does, although mediums to break down too so I will discuss with you the best options like memory sticks or external hard drives compared to Cds and Dvds which can have a shorter life span and what you will need to do to keep them active.

 

• Stop the color shift, fading, and loss of detail.

 

• Easily locate and view your photographic collection.

 

• It's easy to locate and take your collection in a disaster such as floods, fire and other natural disasters by having all your photos in one place.

 

• You can easily share your entire collection with family and friends on any social medium.

 

 

Why Use Me?

 

•  I will keep a back up copy of your photos for 6 months, so if you lose your disc or USB that can reproduce without re scanning again and you only pay for the cost of a replacement Cd or USB.

 

• There will be no hidden charges.  My quotes are what I work by so if you have bulk scanning I will quote you a price then that's it.

 

• If you have older photos from the 1970s in albums that have stuck to the page I will first scan the page in question then break down the images into individual photos and crop and straighten them.  However there is an additional charge on this process due to time factors.

 

• If I remove your photos from albums and plastic sleeves there is no charge - however if you wish me to return them to their original places there is an additional one off charge of $20 for up to 60 pages and $25 for up to 100 pages, again this is due to the time it takes.

 

• I have the facilities to scan in slides 35mm and negatives too these make great birthday and celebration ideas - scanning memories from the past.

 

• I am experienced in Photoshop and other image manipulation software.  I have worked printing photos in a photo lab in the past, I understand how precious your photos are.  And I have a background in design and layout so I have a good eye for details.

 

• I can provide your slides in a slide show presentation if you have a wedding, engagement, birthday or funeral or other occasion.

 

• Your keeping your precious memories local, some companies require you to send your images to them by post which would be heartbreaking if they get lost.  I on the other hand live local and can pick up or deliver. 

 

• If you have questions I am approachable and don't mind answering any questions you have.
